State Approves Request for Community Development Block Grant (CDBG)

Statesville, NC- The North Carolina Rural Infrastructure Authority (RIA) has approved 11 requests to local governments, announced by Governor Roy Cooper’s office on June 17, 2021.  The request included a grant to the City of Statesville of $1 million in support of the planned expansion by Doosan Portable Power.  The company has purchased a parcel to accommodate a new, 500,000 sf manufacturing facility with an additional 80,000 sf of warehousing.  The Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds will help the City with the construction of 4,500 linear foot water line for the facility.
