Iredell Employers Still Looking to Hire as Unemployment Raises Across the State
Iredell County employers are still looking to hire as unemployment raises across the state. Currently, listed on NCWorks.gov there are over 3,000 job posting in Iredell County as unemployment rates (not seasonally adjusted) increased in 76 of North Carolina’s counties in November, decreased in six and remained unchanged in 18 according to the North Carolina Department of Commerce.
Iredell County’s unemployment rate was slightly up from 5.7 percent in October to 5.8 percent in November. Iredell has a workforce of 88,332 people and over 5,000 people are currently classified as unemployed.
The number of workers employed statewide (not seasonally adjusted) increased in November by 8,578 to 4,665,264, while those unemployed increased by 4,704 to 301,765. Since November 2019, the number of workers employed statewide decreased 257,673, while those unemployed increased 123,934.
